How this website was put together

Terry Clayton here, webmaster and son of Joe Neil Clayton. A little computer background is in order here to explain the route it took to get this website to work as well as it does.
It takes a program called Rapidweaver, to make it look nice and for it all to work. It took finding a great free program called Open Office by SunMicroSystems to handle the first level word processing as most of these files are from the time when Dad used a CPM computer, then went to an iMac using WordPerfect. Open Office was able to convert these programs, check spelling and save them as MicroSoft Word files. From there I used my Mac program known as Pages to clean up, spell check and make the file into the PDF you see. Dad still uses Word Perfect X4 on his new PC and the more recent files are converted to PDF right from that program.
I have my Mac Mini with two 24" screens for my primary computer but still fire up my old XP machine once in a while. We also have a new Quad core Windows 7 Professional machine that we use for the church here in Loma Rica to do all of the audio processing. It is a machine with five CD burners to make copies and it is fast to make the job easy. I actually built that one from parts.
Thanks for listening to the Geek side of things.
